Keeping our children safe in this digital age can be a real worry for parents. We want the security of being in contact with them but juggling the concerns of screen time and internet safety can also be a real challenge.
Having a child with autism adds to this problem for us. Biggest has very little danger awareness and a tendency to wander o , like lot of kids on the spectrum. One of my Biggest fears is that we will one day lose him in a busy place – and this is an issue that may not improve as he gets older. Often, I wish I could keep him with me all the time. With school starting in September, I know the- re may be times when this is not possible.
That is why a device like the Xplora smart watch is such a great idea. Biggest has already learned to call me on it but it has the added safety functions of only being able to call a few programmed numbers and GPS tracking. Perfect for giving some extra peace of mind without hindering their independence.
